So how did the Klines get started in comedy/music? "I have been doing stand-up in Memphis for 6 years," says Michael. "I also have a band with my twin brother, Stephen called The Community Bubble."
On top of that, the Klines also host a comedy/music podcast on the shutupandlistenpodcast network called of course, Twin Face Kline. They also played as the house band for various theater productions, including most recently The Break-Up Show 2 at TheatreWorks. "We also performed stand-up and a live Twin Face Kline recording at the recent Memphis Comedy Festival, put on by The Memphis Roast Club, of which I am a founding member," says Michael.
What is the best part of being artists for the Kline boys? "I have made many fascinating and amazing friends from my involvement in the local art scene,' Says Michael. "Also, music and comedy is a great form of free therapy."
Coming up for Twin Face Kline is a self-titled album for The Community Bubble with a C.D. release party at The Poplar Lounge on June 1st. Also on tap, more podcasts of Twin Face Kline, which can be found on itunes and shutupandlistenpodcast.com. And they can be seen doing stand-up every Monday night at The Poplar Lounge.
So why do it? Michael adds "To inspire and be inspired, and continue to build a fan base so I can quit my annoying job." Comparing Memphis to their own work "[It's] gritty, yet whimsical. Much like the city itself."
