The Perfect Vessels

Brothers Graham Burks and Justin Fox Burks, David Bell, and Aaron Brame, are The Perfect Vessels. Their album, Name Our Own Stars, made the top 200 on College Music Journal and played on radio stations around the country.

The Perfect Vessels, who are all Memphis Natives, have many other side jobs and talents. Graham has made several music videos for the band, and co-produced their album with Doug Easley. As a band they do their own booking, promoting (with a little help from Makeshift Music), and poster design. For their album release David ran their press campaign and got their album reviewed in international publications.

Perfect Vessels have been playing together since they were kids and have played countless shows at the Antenna Club. Some of their major highlights include opening for 7 Seconds and the Dead Milkmen. Drawing their influences from Big Star and Elephant 6 Collective, they've infused psychedelic pop with an electronic rock twist to create their unique sound.

When it comes to Memphis' attribution to the Perfect Vessels music they say, "We aren't going for a certain sound; we just play and this is what comes out. That is the essence of Memphis - real people, real music, grit, grind. We're all heart."

Outside of their band, Justin is a photographer, whose work can be seen all around Memphis, a fantastic vegetarian chef, and runs marathons for St. Jude with Graham. Aaron just had a baby and bought a house. David works on social justice issues, especially the employment for ex-offenders.
